research

I’m doing a CASE PhD at the London School of Economics. My research looks at cities’ openness to new people and ideas, and how this affects their long-term economic performance. In particular, I'm looking at the economics of cultural diversity in English cities. The project is due to finish in 2010.

My supervisor is Henry Overman, Reader in Economic Geography at LSE and Director of SERC.

I am also on the Advisory and Review Board of the International Journal of Knowledge-Based Development.

policy

My research is co-sponsored by the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG). I work there as a Policy Adviser a couple of days a week.

I am a Research Associate at the Centre for Cities, and sit on the Centre's Research Advisory Board. I'm also an Associate at The Work Foundation, and an Associate Fellow at the ippr think tank.
